Mrembo Irene Njoki is a Kenyan politician and the Member of Parliament of Bahati Constituency, Nakuru County, under the Jubilee Party.
Early life and education
Irene Mrembo Njoki, affectionately referred to as Mrembo na Kazi, was born in December 1975 in Bahati Constituency, where she attended the local schools for her formal primary and secondary education.
Her secondary education took place at Naivasha Girls Secondary School from 1991 to 1994, laying the academic foundation that would later underpin her professional and political journey.
Following secondary school, she pursued tertiary studies at Africa Nazarene University, where she earned a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing between 2007 and 2010.
Building on her commercial understanding, she furthered her education with an MBA in Strategic Management at Daystar University from 2010 to 2012.

Irene Njoki’s professional journey began in the hospitality industry, where she served as a personal assistant to the marketing manager of a luxury hotel in Nairobi.
She later joined Kensta Group, a logistics and food supply chain company, as an assistant to the managing director.
In 2005, she transitioned to NCBA Bank Kenya, where she worked as a personal executive assistant to the managing director.
In 2013, Irene made a pivotal move into public service, becoming the personal assistant to Cabinet Secretary James Macharia in the Ministry of Health.
When Macharia was reassigned to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, Irene followed, continuing her role and expanding her expertise in housing, urban development, public works, and maritime affairs.
Between 2013 and 2018, Mrembo Irene worked as the Director of Administration in the Office of the Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, where she was deeply involved in coordination, policy planning, and managing high-level engagements.

By 2019, Njoki had become a well-recognized figure in Nakuru County politics, leveraging her administrative expertise and grassroots mobilization skills to build strong ties with the electorate.

Political career
Mrembo Irene’s first major political test came during the 2022 General Elections, when she contested for the Bahati Constituency parliamentary seat under the Jubilee Party banner.
In a stunning upset, Njoki won the Bahati parliamentary seat, becoming one of the few Jubilee candidates to capture a constituency in Nakuru County during the UDA-dominated election.
Since entering Parliament in 2022, Njoki has been an active legislator, contributing to debates and policy discussions with a focus on social justice, gender equity, and sustainable development.
She has served on key committees, where her background in strategic management and administration has been instrumental in shaping policy proposals.
