Joseph Ranji, popularly known as Sparky Eyebrows, is a Kenyan microblading artist, entrepreneur, and social media influencer.

He became a viral sensation on online platforms after a live appearance on the Obinna Show, following his announcement that he planned to burn his Honda Fit.

According to his announcement made on Facebook, burning his car during his TikTok live at 5 pm was a ‘sacrifice’ to God for blessings.

Sparky intended to burn his Honda after his Porsche Cayenne was impounded, and he was going through a series of business and personal challenges.

“I’ve told you, I’m burning that Honda Fit of mine. I will go back to matatu,” Sparky Eyebrows stated during an interview.

The TikTok live where he was set to set his car on fire gained massive online buzz, with viewership skyrocketing before his manager intervened and put out the fire in time, preventing damage.

Sparky Eyebrows’ Early Life and Educational Background

Sparky was born and raised in Meru, with the entrepreneur publicly confirming that he rose from humble beginnings.

After completing his secondary education, the entrepreneur decided to join the Churchill Show but was discouraged by Terence Creative and Terry from pursuing comedy.

That did not stop him from venturing into other sectors, including business, where he started a venture charging as little as KSh 20 per service during his third year in 2018 as he pursued entrepreneurship alongside his studies.

Later, the entrepreneur moved to Nairobi, setting up at Lyric House on Kimathi Street, building a client base through affordable services.

Career and Achievements

In 2018, I made an online presence as ‘Sparky Eyebrows’ that was a blend of artistry and online persona.

He traveled within the country and internationally, charging up to KSh 10,000 per session, and during the sessions he promoted his Facebook.

His Facebook pages gained more than 140K likes and over 300K followers on the TikTok platform with his tagline ‘Let’s laugh as we work.’

Through his viewership and following on his online platforms, he was able to fund his Porsche Cayenne.

However, in July 2025, he criticized Kenyans over 35 who use matatu, calling them failures, which subsequently sparked outrage and a client boycott of his services.

To curb the client boycott, Sparky slashed his prices to KSh 5,000 to recover his earnings.

Further business challenges faced the entrepreneur as he publicly body shamed his wife, critiquing his wife’s beauty standards as well as those of all other beauty seekers.

Family

Sparky is married to Amelia Wa Spares, also known as Mirywasparky, with whom he has children. The couple has not disclosed the names publicly.

In his relationship journey, rumors surfaced in early April that the couple was breaking up after Sparky publicly body-shamed his wife for being dark and unfit, despite being a good father to his kids.

Amelia, however, retorted to Sparky’s remarks about being unfit, affirming that she can work and feed her children without him during the Honda-burning stunt on air.

“I can still work and feed our children,” Amelia stated during the Obinna Show.

Sparky also clarified during the Obinna Show that the wife left him due to her taking online content seriously despite being his best friend.

Further, he explained that he stays with his 6-year-old and 3-year-old kids, but the mother pays a visit to the children whenever possible, with a nanny taking care of the children who has been taking care of the kids for the longest time.

Despite the challenges, Sparky Eyebrows maintains a dominant microblading business in 2026.
