During his growth journey from a street child to one of the top Kenyan digital creators, he has built an online brand with over 1 million followers and created viral comedy skits before transitioning from TV writer to independent producer and performer.
According to Terence, his journey to his current position as a digital creator was with the help of Daniel Ndambuki, famously known as Churchill.
During his time at the Churchill Show, he worked as a writer, producing online content and a viral series of short films during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I don’t count the money I got from the Churchill Show, I count the value, that is priceless, the confidence, the skills that we got are what we are still using,” Terence Creative stated during an interview at the Lynn Ngugi Show.
Early Life and Educational Background
Lawrence Macharia was born on March 22, 1974, in Mlango Kubwa, Mathare, to a family of three siblings.
At the age of nine, Terence lost his parents and was taken in by his grandmother, which eventually led to him becoming a street child in Nairobi.
As a teenager, Terence engaged in drug and substance use and went to the extent of peddling drugs to make a living.
Eventually, Terence was rescued from the streets by his brother and taken to the Mully Children’s Family, with his stay at the children’s home marking a turning point in his life.
At the children’s home, Terence completed his education at the age of 21 while nurturing his artistic talents through active engagement in drama clubs and performances.
In 2013, Terence Creative met his wife, Millicent Chebet, mostly known by her alias name Milly Chebby, while working at the Churchill Show.

With his wife, Milly Chebby, Terence had been having an on-and-off relationship before settling with the relationship issues tied to addiction and a cheating scandal.
However, the couple resolved their issues with Terence making a public proposal to Chebby on Kimathi Street in 2017.
The couple held a traditional Koito ceremony in Milly’s Rift Valley home, and around 2019, the couple welcomed their firstborn, Mila.
He is, however, said to have had two daughters from his previous relationships and to have co-parented with the children’s guardians before welcoming Mila in 2019.
Milly Chebet, according to Terence, is a pillar in his reform and helped him quit his smoking addiction in 2017, as well as his gambling addiction.
