The Alliance Girls High Schools (AGHS) has joined the “German Schools: Partners for the Future” (PASCH) initiative.
In an update on Saturday, January 25, the German Embassy in Kenya announced that Alliance Girls recently became the latest member of the prestigious PASCH program made up of more than 2,000 schools in 120 countries globally that place a high value on the German language.
The German Embassy announced the news in a statement while thanking the State Department for Diaspora Affairs Principal Secretary (PS) Roselyn Njogu for hosting German students under the Kenya-Germany exchange program and supporting cultural exchange between the two countries.
Alliance Girls joins Deutsche Schule-Nairobi, Kaaga Girls High School, and Mother of Apostles Seminary-Eldoret as the only Kenyan schools under PASCH.
PASCH is coordinated by the Federal Foreign Office and implemented in cooperation with the Central Agency for Schools Abroad (ZfA), the Goethe-Institute, the German Academic Exchange Service, and the Educational Exchange Service of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany.

About PASCH program
The program partners provide advice to head teachers, ministries, and schools on developing German teaching. Seconded PASCH partner experts visit the schools to provide direct support.
Fostering exchange between international and German PASCH schools is a particular priority as the initiative supports German teachers at PASCH schools by providing regional and supra-regional further training courses, opportunities to see teaching in action in Germany, and grants for further training in Germany.
Teachers are involved in local, regional, and supra-regional PASCH projects together with their pupils.
These education projects foster ties between the schools, boost students’ language skills and promote intercultural exchange.

PASCH also helps school leavers as they move from school to university education and awards scholarships for studying in Germany.
The Support Initiative for German Schools Abroad and Partner Schools helps foster ties with German universities, according to its website.
Former pupils can forge contacts, continue to learn and obtain information on study and career opportunities via alumni gatherings and on pasch-alumni.de.
???????? Njogu hosts students under Kenya-Germany exchange program from Alliance Girls & Other schools
PS Njogu had on Thursday welcomed students from Alliance Girls, Alliance High School, and Andreas School in Germany at the Diaspora offices in Nairobi.
“These students are participating in a school exchange program that facilitates German language training between Kenyan and German schools. The meeting, attended by representatives from the Goethe Institute, provided a platform to discuss ways to enhance language skills and cultural understanding to strengthen connections between Kenya and Germany,” said the State Department for Diaspora Affairs in a statement.
In her address, PS Njogu emphasized that language proficiency is a key requirement in the recently signed comprehensive labor agreement between Kenya and Germany, which will be crucial for its successful implementation.
Peter Ayiro, the group leader, expressed support for the collaboration between the government and educational institutions, particularly in enhancing skills and extracurricular activities.
