Royal Media Service (RMS) editorial Director Linus Kaikai has penned a wonderful message to Citizen Tv anchor Victoria Rubadiri as she prepares to embark on an international role.
A source close to the station informed The Kenya Times that Rubadiri is set to take on a new role at CNN in the coming days as an African Correspondent.
In his message, Kaikai expressed both sadness and pride that Rubadiri will be moving on to her next duty station.
“We nicknamed #SundayLive the ‘American Edition’ because this pair rolls Uncle Sam’s tongue just right! Sadly, but proudly, Vicky Rubadiri proceeds to her next duty station after 6 years with Citizen TV Kenya,” Linus Kaikai expressed.
“Vicky is an epic performer; a dutiful professional with whom we’ve worked across two media houses. Best wishes in your next assignment Vicky!”
Victoria Rubadiri Poured with Congratulatory Messages
Kenyans among them media professionals have sent praises to Victoria Rubadiri wishing her luck and success on her next career journey.

Rubadiri joined RMS in 2018 as a senior anchor and went on to serve the media house for six-years at Citizen TV.
Prior to this, Victoria worked at Nation Media Group (NMG) after joining in December 2012.
She is the recipient of the 2020 BBC Komla Dumor Award, a journalism award launched by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
Journalists who Have left Citizen Tv
Rubadiri becomes yet another senior journalist to leave RMS following the exit of seasoned reporters Hassan Mugambi and Chemutai Goin.
The renowned reporters left Citizen TV to embark on senior government roles, with Goin assuming a senior role at the Senate while Mugambi was unveiled as the Personal Secretary for Defense Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale.

However, Rubadiri is not the only journalist from Citizen Tv who has transitioned to an international role.
In May 2023, award-winning Citizen TV journalist Waihiga Mwaura left RMS after 14 years to join the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
Mwaura was then the Managing Editor, Multimedia, at RMS and hosted Citizen TV’s highly rated primetime political news program, News Night, on Tuesdays.
“After 14 amazing years at Royal Media Services (Citizen TV), my time here has come to an end. My next stop is @BBCNews, @BBCAfrica specifically Focus on Africa. I’ll share more details soon, but in the meantime, see you on my last episode of #Newsnight at 9pm,” he tweeted.
