Detectives also identified Mbugua as an alleged link between the execution team and the person who contracted them, with the DCI saying he acted as a paymaster responsible for moving money for logistics and the movement of the alleged hit team.
The two suspects are being held at Jinja Road Police Station in Kampala pending their escorted return to Kenya, where the DCI said they will be processed and arraigned in court.
“The suspects arrested in Uganda are being prepared for escort to Kenya, where all three will be processed and arraigned in accordance with the law. Flight delayed the file. It did not close it,” the directorate further said.
