Citizen Television’s ‘Roga Roga’ veteran host has called out NRG Radio presenter Natalie Githinji for a Valentine’s Day Instagram post put up on the station’s Instagram page.
The photo was put up as an engagement post before Natalie’s show, dubbed the ‘AM Show’ began on February 13.
In the photo, Natalie lay on the floor with the legs raised and crossed. It was backed by a caption indicating that that was what Natalie would offer for Valentine’s when asked.
“Unanipea nini Valentine’s Kesho?” the caption read. Which loosely translates to “What will you give me for Valentine’s tomorrow.”
Obachi hit out at the presenter saying that the post went against media ethics. Additionally, he called on the NRG radio management to pull down the post.
According to Obachi, the post was a sign of desperation from the station and the host for engagement.
“This is a sign of desperation, makes the profession look cheap which is unfortunate.
“NRG Radio Kenya management should ask this good lady to pull down this poster. I am sure decent ladies frown upon such antics!!!” he said.

Other Reactions from Kenyans
In response, some users on X supported Obachi, calling on the management of the radio station to issue an apology and pull down the post.
Agreeing with Obachi, Gibson Amenya called on the Media Council of Kenya – MCK to address the matter.
“Really sad, but what happened with the vibrant Media Council of Kenya or even Ezekiel Mutua?” he questioned.
“The current crop of radio presenters have turned radio shows into sexual glorification very few give insightful, educative and motivational programs,” Aggrey Alwala added.
On the flip side, other users hit back at the Roga Roga host saying that radio had changed, and hosts could post whatever they wanted on social media.
“This is not 2009 when you used to make noise for us on radio. Times have changed, she has a choice to post whatever she wants. NRG has a target audience,” Martin Kettienya said.

NRG Radio station had not issued any statement on the matter by the time of publication of this article. However, their website indicated that their goal was to shape the future of entertainment by connecting consumers with high quality and personalized content.
