Media personality Kamene Goro is set to return to NRG Radio, this time co-hosting the drive show every Friday alongside former Kiss FM’s co-host Shaffie Weru and DJ Pierra Makena. Kamene made the announcement on her Instagram page.
The trio will take over from Mwalimu Rachel, who previously hosted the show with DJ Xclusive. The new show will air every Friday from 3 pm to 7 pm.
Kamene left Kiss FM after her contract ended in January 2023. She had hosted the morning show with comedian Oga Obinna, who also left the station. Kamene joined Kiss 100 in 2019 from NRG Radio, where she had previously worked with her former bestie, Andrew Kibe, and DJ Kace.

Shaffie Weru left Radio Africa in March 2021, along with Homeboyz breakfast show co-hosts Neville and DJ Joe Mfalme. The trio had caused an online uproar over their comments on a news story involving a woman being pushed off the 12th floor of a building after turning down the sexual advances of the man she was dating. Shaffie had been with Radio Africa for 20 years before his contract was terminated.

Kamene began her career as a prime-time news anchor and reporter at Ebru TV. She also hosted Just the Facts, The Weekly Report, and Africa in Brief while at the station. Kamene left Ebru TV in September 2015 but later rejoined the company in 2017 and became the head of news. However, she left the station again in late 2017.
Before joining the media, Kamene had studied law and worked as a paralegal at Simani & Co Advocate from February 2013 to July 2013.
Kamene’s return to NRG Radio is sure to be eagerly anticipated by her fans, and her pairing with Shaffie and Pierra will surely bring a fresh and exciting dynamic to the drive show.
