Two people have been killed and eight injured following a road accident in Sobea area, Salgaa Nakuru County.
The accident occurred on the Nakuru-Eldoret highway on Monday, May 27, night after a 14-seater matatu registered under Nanaki Sacco crashed with a trailer and a probox.
According to eyewitnesses at the scene, the matatu was heading towards Nakuru when it collided head-on with a trailer that was trying to avoid hitting a Toyota Probox that was overtaking using the wrong lane.
The two individuals died on the spot after which their bodies were transferred to Nakuru Level 6 Hospital mortuary pending postmortem and identification.
The injured passengers were rushed to Nakuru Level Five Hospital for treatment while police continued investigating the crash.

Photos from the scene showed the harrowing magnitude of the accident, with the matatu severely damaged.
Earlier Accident in Salgaa
The crash comes barely three days after four people died while eight sustained serious injuries along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.
The accident which happened in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 25 at the Salgaa blackspot area also involved a trailer and a 14-seater matatu belonging to the Eldoret Crossroads Shuttle Sacco.
According to Nakuru County police boss Samuel Ndanyi, the crash happened in Migaa area of Uasin Gishu County on Saturday, May 25, at around 3.30am.

Ndanyi said the matatu was travelling from Eldoret towards Nakuru when it collided with the rear of a mobile trailer adding that four women were among the casualties.
Rise of Accidents Along Nakuru-Eldoret Highway
Elsewhere, one person was killed, and five others injured in a crash involving a matatu and a trailer in Molo area of Nakuru County.
According to the driver of the trailer, the matatu belonging to Sifa Line Company was heading towards Eldoret direction before the Sunday, May 26, morning accident.
However, upon reaching Jolly Farm in Molo, the driver of the matatu tried to overtake the trailer but ended up ramming into its rear.
