The family of the late Eric Maigo spoke for the first time since his death during a low-key burial event at his home in Kisii County on Friday, September 29.
Some of his relatives however claimed that there was more to his killing than what is already known.
During his burial, Maigo’s relatives said the brilliant son could have been killed due to what they called work related issues.
The deceased uncle and Former Member of Parliament Chris Bichage told mourners that Maigo had called him to express anxiety after his appointment to the senior position in the hospital.
Eric Maigo Murder
Erick Maigo was reported dead on Thursday, September 14 after police officers discovered his body lying next to two kitchen knives that had the same sets of fingerprints.
Further, the police detailed that Maigo had been stabbed twenty-five times in the neck, chest, face, and other parts of his body.
On Wednesday, September 20, detectives released a CCTV footage that was retrieved from a popular entertainment club opened along Ngong Road linking three women to the case.
Additionally, an analysis of the Maigo’s phone records and determined that he had sent Ksh650 to one of the women on the day of his demise.
DCI Exposes Suspect
On Thursday, September 21, DCI revealed photos of the suspect showing her leaving the apartment where the former Nairobi Hospital Finance Director Eric Maigo was found murdered.
The woman, who was smiling scaled a security wall, was captured leaving Maigo’s residence at Woodley Annex after escaping through the back door.

Low-Key Burial
Maigo was buried was buried at Remo Village in Nyaribari Masaba Kisii County with his family eulogizing him as a smart faithful and funny person who loved music and data science.
Maigo graduated from the University of Nairobi in 2013 with a degree in Commerce. He later obtained a Master of Science degree in finance from the same institution.
At the time of his death, he was pursuing a Master of Science in data science analytics at Strathmore University.
Subsequently his family expressed hope of justice for their slain son adding he was an exceptionally kind person.
“We are convinced that it was a kind soul exceptionally good person we don’t know whether it is it is goodness that killed him, but we suspect it is,” said a family member
According to the family, Eric Maigo did not have a family of his own, but he touched many lives with his deeds and that they would always be his family together.
