The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has calculated the maximum retail prices of petroleum products which will be in force from June 15, 2025, to July 14, 2025.
According to a report by EPRA released on June 14, the price of Super Petrol will increase by Ksh2.69 per litre while those of Diesel and Kerosene will decrease by Ksh1.95 and Ksh2.06 per litre respectively.
In Nairobi, Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will retail at Ksh177.32, Ksh162.91 and Ksh146.93 respectively, effective midnight for the next 30 days.
While breaking down the factors contributing to the changes, EPRA noted that the average landed cost of imported Super Petrol increased by 0.35% from US$588.16 per cubic meter in April 2025 to US$590.24 per cubic meter in May 2025.
On the other hand, the average landed cost of Diesel decreased by 2.42% from US$594.60 per cubic meter to US$580.23 per cubic meter, while that of Kerosene decreased by 5.14% from US$599.84 per cubic meter to US$569.00 per cubic meter over the same period.
This comes after the international oil prices increased during the week that ended on June 13.
The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) in a statement on Friday, June 13, said the price of Murban crude rose to USD 68.24 (Ksh8,830.23) per barrel on June 12, from USD 64.89 (Ksh8,396.74) on June 5.
CBK explained that the rise was primarily driven by heightened geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
May 2025 prices
On May 14, EPRA reduced the petroleum pump prices for Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene by Ksh1.95/litre, Ksh2.20/litre and Ksh2.40/litre respectively.

EPRA said the prices were inclusive of the 16 percent VAT in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2023, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2024 and the revised rates for excise duty adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020.
The average landed cost of imported Super Petrol decreased by 4.89% from $637.22 (Ksh82,456) per cubic metre in February 2025 to $606.06 (Ksh78,423) per cubic metre in March 2025; Diesel decreased by 6.45% from$680.63 (Ksh88,073) per cubic metre to US$636.75 (Ksh82,395) per cubic metre while Kerosene decreased by 6.53% from $672.14 (Ksh86,974) per cubic metre to $628.22 (Ksh81,291) per cubic metre over the same period.

In Nairobi, the price of Super Petrol was capped Ksh174.63, while that of diesel was set at Ksh164.86, and Kerosene Ksh148.99.
Meanwhile, Super Petrol retailed at Ksh171.39, Diesel at Ksh161.62, and Kerosene at Ksh145.75 in Mombasa.
In Kisumu, the cost of Super Petrol was Ksh175.18, Diesel is Ksh165.42, and Kerosene is Ksh 149.25.
The maximum price for super petrol in Eldoret was Ksh174.67 while diesel and kerosene were priced at Ksh165.25 and Ksh149.42, respectively.
In Nakuru, motorists were paying Ksh173.85 for super petrol, Ksh164.43 for diesel, and Ksh148.61 for kerosene.
