Veteran Kenyan journalist Ramah Nyang has ended his 14-year stint at CGTN Africa, signing off from the broadcaster’s flagship business program, Global Business Africa.
Nyang announced his departure during his final edition of Global Business Africa on September 1, ending a career at the network that made him one of Africa’s most recognizable business television anchors.
“So then, on a more personal note, this is where my 14-year run on Global Business Africa comes to an end,” Nyang said during his final broadcast.
Reflecting on his years at the station, the journalist said it had been a fascinating experience covering the movement of capital and ideas across the continent while documenting Africa’s economic transformation.
He noted that his work had taken him to different parts of the continent, including reporting assignments from the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Nyang thanked viewers for their support, feedback, and loyalty throughout his years on air, saying he did not take their attention and engagement for granted.
He also expressed confidence that the Global Business Africa team would continue covering key economic developments across the continent.
