Actor Johny Wactor best known as Brando Corbin for his role in “General Hospital’ an ABC soap opera is dead.
The 37-year-old actor was leaving his job at a rooftop bar in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday, May 25 morning, when he spotted three men trying to steal a catalytic converter from his car.
According to his mother, Scarlet, Wactor confronted the men whom he first thought wanted to tow his car before one of them opened fire and shot him.
Confirming the tragic death, Wactor’s younger brother termed him as a great brother, son, a loving person and one who always lighted up rooms.
“He was a great brother, son, a loving guy and he did everything with all his heart. It is such a shame that he was taken out like that,” Grant said.

Johny Wactor’s Mom Describes the Actor
In an interview with KABC-TV Los Angeles Wactor’s mother noted that his son was a great human being, and his death has left a big hole in their family.
She also revealed that authorities are planning an autopsy after which the family will take his body to South Carolina for funeral services.
“What I’d like for everybody to know is that they took a great human being. It is leaving a very large hole in me, and his brother’s lives, ’She said.
Also, in a statement to ABC News, Scarlett Wactor said her son was “a beautiful soul.”
“There are not enough words to tell what a beautiful soul he was. He was a kind loving son and brother, he lived life to the fullest. He set goals and went after them,” her statement read.
Wactor as a Star
Similarly, Wactor’s talent agent David Shaul said the actor was a spectacular human being and was an all-rounded moral person.
“Standing for hard work, tenacity and a never give up attitude. In the highs and lows of a challenging profession he always kept his chin up and kept striving for the best he could be,” Shaul said in a statement.
“Our time with Johnny was a privilege we would wish on everyone. He would literally give you the shit off his back. After over a decade together, he will leave a hole in our hearts forever.”
The ‘General Hospital’ team also mourned the actor in a statement via their social media account saying he was one of a kind.
“The entire General Hospital family is heartbroken to hear of Johnny Wactor’s untimely passing,” the statement read. “He was truly one of a kind and a pleasure to work with each and every day. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones during this difficult time,” reads the statement.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to Pico Boulevard and Hope Street around 3:25 a.m. local time Saturday.
However, upon arriving at the scene, police found Wactor with a gunshot wound and rushed him to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Actors Tributes to Wactor
After word of the tragic incident spread, many of Wactor’s co-stars took to social media to honor his memory, including his General Hospital co-star Kirsten Storms, who has played Maxie.
“To @johnnywactor ‘s mother and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine what you must be feeling right now. You are in my thoughts and prayers,” she said.
“Johnny was one of those rare real individuals that you almost never come across. I was fortunate enough to have some really good conversations with him where we discussed things I don’t typically open up about.”

Sofia Mattsson, who played Sasha Gilmore on General Hospital, wrote “My heart is so utterly broken… Johnny was the absolute best. So genuine. So caring. Incredibly hard working and humble. With a huge heart that spread so much kindness and joy.”
“He always made sure everyone around him felt seen, heard and loved. I admire the man he was so much and I’m a better person for having known him,” she added.
