The National Assembly has announced public participation forums on the motion tabled on October 1 seeking to impeach Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
According to the Speaker Moses Wetangula, the forums will take place in various parts of the country to gather public opinion on the impeachment of Gachagua after more than two thirds of members of lawmakers signed the motion by Kibwezi West Member of Parliament Mwengi Mutuse to have the deputy president impeached.
Kenyans can submit oral or written submissions and representations on the impeachment.
The public hearings will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, across the country coordinated from the 47 counties from 8.00am to 5.00pm.
The views can also be forwarded to the Clerk of the National Assembly PO Box 41842-00100, Nairobi, hand-delivered to the office of the clerk, Main Parliament Buildings, Nairobi or emailed to impeachment@parliament.go,ke to be received on or before Saturday, 5 October 2024 at 5.00 pm.
Alternatively, the views may be delivered at the respective collection centres as indicated in the schedule the public bearings on Friday, October 4, 2024 to be received by 5.00pm.

Copies of the Special Motion stating the grounds for removal and particulars of the allegations together with the relevant documents may be downloaded from the parliamentary website www. parliament.go.ke.
Public Participation Forums for Gachagua Impeachment
Kenyans can convey their views Gachagua’s impeachment from their various constituencies across the counties.
Public participation for Changamwe, Jomvu, Kisauni, Nyali, Likioni, Mvita constituencies will be held at Tononoka Social Hall.

Msambweni, Lungalunga, Matuga, and Kinango constituencies at Kwale Cultural Centre, Ganze, Kaloleni, Kilifi North, and Kilifi South constituencies at Coast Development Authority Hall, and Wajir North, Wajir East, Tarbaj, Wajir West, Eldas, and Wajir South at ICT Hall, Wajir Town.
Kenyans in Mandera West, Mandera North and Mandera South constituencies can present their views at Mandera Social Hall, those in Isiolo North and Isiolo South at Catholic Diocese Hall, while those in Central Imenti, South imenti, Tigania West, Igembe North, Igembe South, and Igembe Central at Kamende Hall.
For those in Mwingi West, Mwingi North, Mwingi Central, Kitui South, Kitui East, and Kitui Central can go to Kitui Multi-Purpose Hall for public participation.

Other Locations
Forums in Tetu, Kieni, Mathira, Othaya, and Nyeri Town will be held at Nyeri cultural Hall while Limuru, Kikuyu, Lari, and Kiambu constituencies at Kiambu Social Hall.
Kenyans in Ugenya, Ugunja, Bondo, Rarieda, and Bondo can provide their views on Gachagua’s impeachment at Siaya technical Institute while those in Kisumu West, Kisumu Central, Nyando, Muhoroni, and Nyakach can go to Tom Mboya Labor College.
