The government has announced jobs for healthcare workers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
In a statement on Tuesday, January 2, the ministry of Labor and Social Protection indicated that the opportunities were a result of a safe labor migration deal between Kenya and KSA.

Notably, the advertisement detailed that the vacancies were for General Nurses and Personal Assistant or Health Care Assistant professionals.
“This initiative has facilitated employment of thousands of Kenyans in different economic sectors in the KSA and has expressed willingness through various organizations in KSA to recruit additional health care workers from Kenya.

“In view of the above, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection requests for applications from qualified Kenyans for employment in the KSA,” the notice read in part.

Qualifications For the Jobs
Further, the advertisement indicated that interested and qualified individuals ought to be Kenyan citizens with a Bachelor of Science Degree or a Diploma or Certificate in Nursing.
Additionally, applicants should be female aged between 22-35 Years, and a registered and licensed member of the Nursing Council of Kenya, and in good standing.
Also, the ministry indicated that interested persons must be in be in possession of a valid Police Clearance Certificate.
Under work experience, the applicant should have a Minimum of 2 years of continuous work as a nurse.
On the other hand, for nurses with Diploma qualification there is no experience required.
For nurses with Certificate qualification, they will require to prove a minimum of one year of continuous work Experience.
In addition, applicants need to be proficient in writing and speaking English as well as be medically fit and hold a valid Kenyan passport.
“Must have a valid Prometric Results; If not, the same can be taken either in Kenya OR KSA (Prometric test cost to be deducted from the employee’s salary in 3 instalments.”
“Dataflow verification report for the education certificate and Nursing Council License or latest employment certificate is mandatory,” added the notice.

Terms Of Employment
At the same time, the government indicated that the jobs would be under a 2-year renewable contract in different institutions.
For degree holders, they will receive a minimum salary of Ksh146,708(3,500.00 SAR) every month, while diploma holders will receive Ksh125,750 (3,000.00 SAR) per month.
Certificate holders will receive a minimum of Ksh92,216 (2,200.00 SAR) every month.
Successful applicants will be working for eight hours every day and will be issued with an air ticket to the country.
