The Public Service Commission (PSC) has asked all government officials to declare their income, assets and liabilities by December 31, 2023.
In a statement on Tuesday, October 24, PSC noted that the order applied to public officers in ministries, state departments and state corporations.
At the same time, the notice stated that the move was under its jurisdiction that required employees under the commission to declare their wealth after every two years.
Notably, the commission directed the public officers to start making the declarations from November 1, 2023.
“This year’s every-two-year declarations of income, assets and liabilities will be filed between November 1, 2023, and the deadline is 31 December 2013.
“These applies to public officers in Ministries, State Departments and State Corporations for which Public Service Commission is the Responsible Commission,” noted PSC.

Process of Wealth and Assets Declaration
In addition, the commission proceeded to direct the government employees and officials to submit and fill the declaration of wealth of themselves, their spouse, and children below the age of 18.
“Public officers are required to fill in and submit declaration of income, assets and liabilities of themselves, spouse/s and dependent children below the age of 18 years by December 31, 2023,” added the notice.
Further, PCS indicated that it had conducted training for the heads of human resources management of all public offices to ensure that the employees did not encounter any difficulties.
At the same time, the declaration forms, noted the commission, could be accessed through their website at www.publicservice.go.ke.
“All Public officers are required to fill the declaration forms in A3 paper format from November 1, 2023, and submit to the Authorized Officer by December 31, 2023.

“The Authorized Officer will submit the declaration returns to the Public Service Commission on a date given to them as per the downloadable submission schedule available in the Commission’s website,” stated the notice.
Disciplinary action Against Employees
In addition, the commission stated that public officers would take personal responsibility for the accuracy of the information they provide.
Moreover, according to PSC, it will take disciplinary action against those who fail to comply with the directive.
“Each public officer takes personal responsibility for the completeness and accuracy of the information submitted to the Commission.
“Public institutions are advised to commence and conclude disciplinary action against public officers who would have failed to comply from January 2, 2014, and inform the Commission on sanctions taken by January 31, 2024,” it warned.
