The immigration department has published the first batch of names of passport applicants whose documents are ready for collection.
According to the department, the list of names of the new passport holders will be published on the immigration’s website and social media accounts, to alert the specified individuals to collect their passports.
Further, the department noted that only a number of passports will be issued every day for the next 30 days beginning September 25.
The publication follows a directive by the interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki on Tuesday, September 19 under a nationwide Rapid Results Initiative (RRI).
Additionally, Kindiki warned Kenyans against collecting their passports. He said that failure to collect the documents after the publication will result in a penalty.
“Owners are advised to pick their passports from the designated collection point in Nairobi and various regional immigration offices,” Kindiki advised.

However, he added that priority for passport processing will be given to individuals seeking medical care abroad or students who are due for admission in learning institutions outside Kenya.
