The Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has issued a stern warning for new passport holders who are yet to pick their passports.
In a statement on Tuesday, September 19, the CS noted that 87,574 passports were ready but yet to be collected by their owners from the Immigration department.
Therefore, Kindiki initiated a 30-day Rapid Results Initiative (RRI) for the delivery of uncollected passports at the Nyayo House headquarters and other regional offices across the country.
Further, the CS stated that during the RRI period, beginning Wednesday, September 20, information concerning the pickup of those passports will be published in media outlets and social media platforms.
The publications will take place every Wednesday of the week until the 30-day period ends.
“Owners are advised to pick their passport from the designated collection points in Nairobi and various regional immigration offices.
“The offices will be published in various media outlets and social media platforms from tomorrow and every other Wednesday during the RRI period,” stated Kindiki.

The Interior CS further explained that the distribution of the uncollected passports across the country included 36,170 in Nyayo House (Nairobi).
10,409 remained uncollected at the Embu Regional Office while 9,938 passports remained uncollected at the Eldoret Regional Office.

Those individuals will also be penalized when applying for new passports.
