The Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) Authority has invited recent university graduates to apply for the Presidential Digital Talent Internship Programme (PDTP) Cohort IX Intake for the 2024/2025 year.
In a notice on Tuesday, August 27, the Ministry announced that the government is seeking young, talented Kenyans with a passion for ICT and Public Service.
Through this initiative, the interns will participate in a structured 12-month internship program within both the public and private sectors.
“The objective of the programme is to develop and prepare young ICT graduates to take up employment and entrepreneurship opportunities that come up in the ICT as well as other sectors,” read part of the notice.
The programme provides participants an excellent opportunity to gain workplace experience, expand knowledge, mentorship and build professional networks in different areas.
The Ministry seeks to recruit 150 interns specialized in Network & Digital Infrastructure and 100 in Software Development & AI.
Additionally, the authority is looking for graduates in Information Security, Multimedia (Graphic Design) & Digital Marketing, and Data Analytics, with 50 positions available in each of these fields.

Requirements and Qualifications
Applicants must have graduated and attained First or Upper Second-Class Honors (or the equivalent) from a recognized institution in the last two years (from Jan 2022).
However, if a candidate is awaiting graduation (till Dec 2024), he/she must provide a recommendation/reference letter signed & stamped by the university and transcript indicating that First or Upper Second-Class Honors degree will be awarded.
Candidates must be recent graduates in BSc. ICT or Engineering (Electrical & Electronics, Telecommunication, Software)
Additionally, these graduates must have thorough knowledge in core areas of specialization including Network & Digital Infrastructure, Software Development & Al, Information Security, Multimedia (Graphic Design) & Digital Marketing, and Data Analytics.
“The Applicant may be required to demonstrate technical competencies on their core of specialization prior to the interview,” the Ministry said.

Applicants must be a Kenyan youth between 21 to 29 years of age and unemployed.
In addition, the authority indicated that applicants should not have undertaken any other internship program in the government including those offered by the Public Service Commission (PSC).
Furthermore, the candidates should be willing and ready to be deployed in any government organization (MCDAs) within the 47 counties on full time basis from 8:00am – 5:00pm.
Females, persons with disability and graduates from ASAL regions are encouraged to apply.

Interested applicants must complete the online application form via: https://digitalent.go.ke/ and attach relevant documents as indicated in the form.
Incomplete applications will not be considered, and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted to attend the interviews.
The application deadline is set for Thursday Midnight September 16, 2024
