Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a warning to Iran amid the ongoing US-Iran nuclear talks, demanding that Iran dismantle its nuclear program.
On Sunday, 27, 2025, Netanyahu revealed that he had told Trump any nuclear agreement with Iran should also include provisions to prevent Tehran from developing ballistic missiles.

“We are in close contact with the United States. But I said, one way or the other, Iran will not have nuclear weapons,” Netanyahu said at a conference organised by the Jewish News Syndicate.
According to Reuters, the United States and Iran have held three rounds of indirect talks, mediated by Oman, aimed at securing a deal that would prevent Tehran from acquiring a nuclear weapon while also lifting the severe economic sanctions imposed by Washington.

Netanyahu explained that the reason Iran does not yet possess nuclear weapons is due to the actions taken by successive Israeli governments under his leadership, which have delayed Iran’s nuclear progress by approximately ten years.
However, he acknowledged that these actions have not entirely halted Iran’s nuclear ambitions. According to Netanyahu, Iran has made significant advancements in uranium enrichment and is working toward developing nuclear weaponry.

US Role in Iran Nuclear Power
Netanyahu expressed confidence in the US President’s dedication to preventing Iran from becoming a nuclear power.
Further, he stated the necessity of a deal that eliminates Iran’s ability to enrich uranium for weapons, which would involve dismantling their nuclear infrastructure and removing enriched materials.
He concluded by stressing the crucial need for an agreement that completely removes Iran’s capacity for uranium enrichment related to weapons.

Nobel Peace Prize Winners Call on Trump and Putin to Start Denuclearisation Talks
Three Nobel Peace Prize-winning organisations dedicated to the abolition of nuclear weapons united to call on the U.S. and Russian presidents to meet and make substantial progress on denuclearisation.
The joint appeal came from Nihon Hidankyo, a group of Japanese atomic bomb survivors that won last year’s Nobel; the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), awarded in 2017; and the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War, which won in 1985.
In a statement, ICAN shared that the organisations sent a letter to both leaders, calling on them to take immediate action.
“In this critical moment of nuclear danger, we call for urgent steps to ease tensions and initiate serious disarmament talks,” they wrote to US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The two nations together hold 90% of the world’s nuclear arsenal. The groups were motivated to send the letter after Trump’s remarks earlier this year, suggesting a global push for denuclearisation, along with Russia’s expressed willingness to consider the idea.
