The Jubilee Party Faction led by EALA MP Kanini Kega has announced a date for the National Delegates Convention (NDC) next month.
Holding a meeting on Tuesday, the team decided to have the Special NDC at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre on July 22.
“The meeting noted and agreed with the Determination of the Internal Disputes Resolution Committee (IDRC) dated 30th May 2023 which declared the meeting held on 22nd May 2023 at Ngong Racecourse as null and void. The meeting also noted that the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) wrote a letter dated 29th May 2023 that is in the public domain, and which confirmed that the said meeting did not follow due process,” Kega said in a statement.

The EALA Mp further termed the NDC meeting held at the Ngong Racecourse by former president Uhuru Kenyatta as ‘unlawful’.
“In light of the above, we wish to inform our members that the purported changes in the leadership of our Party made at the said meeting are of no legal consequence,” he said.
Kega also said that the Kenyatta allies’ leadership changes during the NDC have no legal ramifications, and the Jubilee leadership in the House is unchanged, including the position of deputy Minority Whip held by Nominated Senator Sabina Chege.
The Jubilee faction previously made leadership changes, removing Uhuru Kenyatta as the party leader.
