Prophet Victor Kanyari has alleged that he is being denied access to his children, Sky and Danny, following the death of gospel singer Betty Bayo.
According to the prophet, Hiram Gitau, widely known as Tash, the husband of the late gospel singer, has caused a rift between Betty Bayo’s family and the children.
Further, Tash has allegedly asked Sky and Danny’s father not to visit his home or to interact with the children, citing the children’s need for privacy.
Kanyari has called on Tash to hand over custody of the children, emphasizing that he will not give up on the, even if it costs him the Kasarani seat.
“What I need is my children; everyone is fertile and should get their own children. We cannot condone such behavior just because I am filled with the Holy Spirit; I will not be quiet. I should be quiet about the Kasarani seat; nothing is more important than my kids. Give me my children; matters of the Kasarani seat will follow later,” Victor Kanyari stated during his Sunday sermon.
Response from Kanyari followed an online video that has been circulating of the late Betty Bayo’s children stating that since the death of their mother, people seem to have run away and do not support the family anymore.

Kanyari on Gitau
According to the prophet, Hiram Gitau, who tied the knot with Betty Bayo in December 2021, has barred the grandparents from accessing the children, citing the family members as after the inheritance.
Regarding the inheritance, Kanyari emphasized that he is well off and does not need anything from the late Betty except for his children.
He further explained that Tash has used the children as a cover for denying friends and family access to them due to privacy concerns.
Additionally, Victor explained that, in an attempt to restrict the children’s interactions with other members of the public, Tash has fired the children’s caregiver.
Victor explained that the children’s nanny has spent five years with the children before she was recently fired.
However, Kanyari’s explanation is contradictory, since his daughter, Sky Victor, had clarified on her social media accounts that the house manager was fired for mistreating Sky and her brother, Danny.
To solve the problem and prove that Tash is indeed barring Betty’s family from connecting with the children, Kanyari urged Tash to hold a live TikTok session with a member of Betty Bayo’s family, adding that Betty’s mother had faced online backlash when she tried to speak on the matter earlier.

Public Reactions
Following the prophet’s raised concern about Tash denying him and the family access to the children, members of the public have advised that he negotiate with Tash and reach an agreement.
Maurice Odhiambo argued that if a peaceful talk between Kanyari and the late Betty Bayo’s husband does not work, the prophet should take it up with the authorities.
“Pastor Kanyari, please talk with Gitau so that u can get access to your kids and have them back. It’s a matter of good conversations, but if it goes unwell, check with the authorities in place; no more fighting,” Maurice Odhiambo advised.
With some in support of the prophet, they have advised that the prophet should stop paying school fees and providing for the children to show Tash for the role he plays in the children’s life.
Despite gathering support from most of the members of the public, some have called out Kanyari, asking him to perform a self-assessment on why the children prefer to be with their stepfather.
