The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a temporary traffic disruption along the Kisumu Boys – Mamboleo (A1) Road to facilitate scheduled construction and improvement works.
In a public notice dated July 29, 2025, KeNHA stated that the disruption will take place from Thursday, August 7, 2025, to Friday, September 5, 2025.
During this period, traffic flow will be altered as vehicles will be diverted to one side of the dual carriageway to allow safe and efficient construction activities.
“This is to allow for scheduled construction and improvement works on the road section,” the notice read.
“During this period, traffic will be maintained by diverting vehicles to one side of the dual carriageway.”
Kisumu Boys – Mamboleo (A1) Road
The affected stretch runs from Kisumu Boys Roundabout to Mamboleo Roundabout, covering sections that include the Patels Roundabout and Kondele Road.

The traffic management plan provided by KeNHA indicates a clear diversion route to minimize congestion and ensure safety.
KeNHA has urged motorists to adhere to the proposed traffic management plan, cooperate with traffic marshals and police officers on site, and exercise caution when navigating the affected areas.

Other Affected Roads this Week
KeNHA had earlier announced traffic disruption along Mombasa Road.
In a statement dated August 1, 2025, KeNHA advised motorists to exercise caution, especially those traveling from Nairobi to Athi River via Mombasa Road.

Motorists plying Mombasa Road at Athi River, Nairobi Bound, are advised to exercise caution while driving as an overloaded truck has been intercepted, blocking one side of the road.
At the same time, the authority announced a four-month closure of a section of the Mwingi–Ukasi (A3) Road to facilitate construction works.
In a public notice shared on July 25, 2025, the agency stated that the Mwingi–Ukasi (A3) Road will be fully closed at KM 39+400 (Kwa-Vii) from Monday, July 28, 2025, to Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
“This is to allow for the construction of a box culvert, and motorists are therefore advised to use the designated diversion as indicated in the diversion plan,” said KeNHA Acting Director General Eng. Luka Kimeli.
To minimize the impact of the road closure, KeNHA has implemented a comprehensive traffic management strategy. The plan includes clearly marked diversion routes for vehicles.
