The Kenya Embassy in Riyadh has issued a public notice addressing information circulating on social media about an alleged ban on Kenyan nationals working in Saudi Arabia from next month.
These circulating reports have raised concerns among Kenyans working in or seeking employment in the Kingdom.
In a statement on September 10, the Embassy said it had noted the information and clarified that it had not received official communication confirming such a measure.
“The Embassy wishes to reassure members of the public that it has not received any official communication or information indicating the existence of such a measure,” the statement read in part.

According to the Kenya Embassy in Riyadh, it has not received any official communication or information indicating the existence of a ban on Kenyan nationals working in Saudi Arabia.

The mission further stated that it has no information about a general ban on the employment of Kenyan nationals in the Kingdom.
“There is currently no information known to the Embassy concerning a general ban on the employment of Kenyan nationals in the Kingdom.”
The Kenya Embassy in Riyadh issued this clarification in response to information circulating across various social media platforms about the alleged employment restrictions.
Further, the Embassy urged Kenyans and other stakeholders to exercise caution when engaging with information shared on social media, particularly when reports concern employment and could affect large numbers of Kenyan nationals.
Kenyans urged to rely on credible sources
The Embassy advised Kenyan nationals and other stakeholders to seek clarification from official, credible sources when necessary.

“The Embassy therefore encourages Kenyan nationals and other stakeholders to exercise due caution when engaging with information circulated through social media platforms and to seek clarification from official and credible sources where necessary,” the Embassy stated.
It also appealed to Kenyans to refrain from sharing unverified information, noting that such reports could cause unnecessary concern or apprehension among members of the public.
The mission said it remains in close engagement with relevant Saudi authorities on matters concerning Kenyan nationals in the Kingdom.
Kenya Embassy in Riyadh said it will continue to keep Kenyan nationals informed of any important developments through its established official communication channels.
