Remarks by the diplomat rubbed the opposition the wrong with Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga claiming that The United States and other foreign powers were interfering with Kenyan affairs.
The Siaya senator further stated that he found it insensitive that the US ambassador praised the democratic and transparency of Kenyan elections.
“I’m hurt when the US ambassador is dancing and praising democracy in Kenya when such rights (right to demonstrate) are being criminalized and described as destruction of property,” he said while addressing the media.
