Kenyan detectives are pursuing thugs who robbed the brother of Uganda National Assembly Speaker Annet Anita a new car.
According to the police, Wilson Okello was supposed to give the Toyota Prado to the sister, but he was found unconscious along Mombasa Road in his boxers and vest after being dragged by the carjackers.
Wilson Okello, was on November 10, carjacked while driving a new Toyota Prado from Mombasa Port to Uganda.
An ambulance rushed him to the Kenyatta National Hospital – KNH where he was discharged on November 13, 2023, as police launched investigations.
According to Okello, the vehicle had no number plates. Upon arriving in Voi, he was flagged down by four people, including two women, who claimed to be pastors.

Notably, they asked him for a lift to Kisumu which he agreed.
With the hot weather, as they drove, the driver was offered a bottle of soda which he graciously accepted.
Unfortunately, his next recollection of memory was gaining consciousness on November 11 in a hospital bed.
By then, his relatives from Uganda had been trying to reach him in vain.
However, the vehicle is yet to be traced although detectives have been sent to the highway to pursue the gang.
Also, the detectives are reviewing security cameras on the highway as part of the probe.

Motorists in Nairobi and its surrounding areas were earlier advised to exercise caution due to the emergence of a car theft syndicate capable of discreetly disabling vehicles before stealing them.
Several Kenyans have reported that the attacks occur at night, catching drivers off guard.
According to the National Council of Administration of Justice (NCAJ), in its latest annual report, 1,666 cars were reported stolen in the year 2022.
