A family of a 34-year-old woman in Bungoma County is demanding justice after the death of their kin who they claimed was attacked by a pastor and a security officer.
Speaking to the media on Monday, October 10, the family stated that the woman was attacked when she went to pick up her daughter, a class eight candidate, from the Gospel Embassy Church.
According to the family, the girl had been missing for four days when the mother discovered that she was at the church for overnight prayers.
She questioned the pastor asking him why he took her child without consent. However, the pastor and another member of the church attacked her.
“When they came outside, the woman was pushed in a ditch. The pastor held my sister from behind while the security guards beat her up.
“She asked the pastor why she kept that young girl in church without her permission. The pastor got angry inciting other congregants who were in church,” the deceased’s sister stated.

The Minor Narrates Her Version of Events
Further explaining the ordeal, the minor revealed that the pastor later met her and attempted to bribe her to keep the matter under wraps.
“The pastor later came and told me that he would give me Ksh1,000 for my silence. She wanted me to say that it was all an accident.
“I refused and told him to help my relatives because all I wanted was for them to be taken to hospital for treatment. He refused to help me,” she stated.
