The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has announced the dates for the 2026/2027 Business and Technical examination.
According to KNEC, the registration for the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) examinations will commence on July 6.
Candidates who are to undertake the examinations are expected to register for the examinations online through the official portal.
“Registration of candidates for the November 2026 Business and Technical examinations will commence on 6th July 2026. Registration for all the examinations is done online,” KNEC directed on June 2.
KNEC Set Dates for Business and Technical Examinations
Candidates’ registrations for business singles and group subjects for the November 2026 series are set from July 6 to September 11.
Further, candidates who will undertake the TVET exams during the March 2027 series are required to ensure that they are registered between November 2, 2026, and January 8, 2027.
Candidates who will undertake the examinations in the July 2027 series will be open for registration between March 1 and May 7, 2027.
Submission Dates for TVET CWA
Candidates in the November 2026 series are expected to submit their Course Work Assessment (CWA) and project marks by October 23.
In addition, for the March 2027 series, the CWA will be submitted on February 26, while those in the July series will submit on June 25.
According to KNEC, the advanced instructions practicals are set for November 12 for the November 2026 series.
March 2027 series practicals will be conducted on February 15, while the July series will take place on June 14.

Examination Dates
Planning for hospitality practical papers for the November 2026 series will be done on November 11, while the March 2027 series will be set on March 10, and the July 2027 series hospitality practical papers will be dated on July 14.
Practical and theory examinations for the November 2026 exams will take place between November 16 and December 4, 2026.
Further, the theory and practical assessment for the March 2027 series will run from March 15 to April 2, 2027.
Candidates in the July 2027 series will have their assessments from July 19 to August 6, 2027.
Milestones Tracking
KNEC has directed that the keying of the milestone for data tracking will be done across the three TVET examination series.
The November 2026 series presentation of Milestone One will be held between September 7 and 18, 2026.
Further, the keying of Milestone Two for the November series will be done between 21st September 21 and October 2, while Milestone Three will be keyed between October 5 and 23.226.
For the March 2027 series, Milestone One will be keyed between January 11 and 22, Milestone Two between January 25 and February 12, while the Milestone Three will be keyed between February 15 and 25.
In addition, the July 2027 series will key in on Milestone One from May 10 to 14, Milestone Two from May 17 to June 11, and Milestone Three from June 7 to 18.

TVET Business and Technical Registration
To register for the examinations, candidates must visit the KNEC online registration portal at https://www.knec.ac.ke/our-portals/.
On the portal, candidates are required to choose the exam series and ensure that registration for the exam is completed before the set deadlines.
Further, KNEC emphasizes that during registration, the selected courses should match the examination series and the course the candidate is applying for, whether under business single or business group, where applicable.
For institutional candidates, registering through the institution requires them to confirm the details the institution submitted to ensure they are correct.
