The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has announced a national outage.
In a statement on Sunday, November 3, KRA stated that all its online services are unavailable for users. Explaining the reason for the outage, the authority has noted that it is encountering technical challenges.
Further, KRA has apologized to Kenyans for the outage, adding that a technical team is working to restore normal operations.
Users can expect an update from the authority when the services are back and running.

This is to notify all our esteemed stakeholders that our online services are unavailable due to a technical challenge. We apologize for the inconvenience and kindly ask for your patience as our technical team works to restore normal operations.
We will keep you updated on the progress of the restoration effort as soon as possible.

Online Services Offered by KRA
The KRA online portal supports several tax-related services including pin registration and access to a pin certificate.
Additionally, users are able to access KRA mobile services including paying the monthly rental income and submitting the turnover tax.
“Download the M-Service Application to file and pay your Monthly Rental Income (MPI) and Turnover Tax. The application has also made it easier to apply for PINs and verification of TCC & PINS,” KRA notes about mobile services.

Also, users are able to file individual and business tax returns, as well as make use of the PIN checker, which allows one to confirm whether or not a particular PIN is genuine.

On the other hand, the Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC) checker allows users to confirm the validity of a Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC), while the Tax Agent Checker allows users to identify authorized KRA Withholding VAT agents
Also, the online platform allows clients to verify the authenticity of excise stamps through the Excisable Goods Management System (EGMS).
The KRA Case Status Checker allows users to consult the status of their applications made on iTах.
