Detectives in Kilimani, have exposed a ‘Mchele’ (drugging) operation targeting revellers in various clubs including Gemini and Quiver.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has noted that they are holding a woman accused of running the operation.
The suspect, identified as Consolata Nyangai, is believed to be part of a growing group that drug and rob men in various Nairobi clubs.
“Her arrest resulted from a report filed at Kilimani Police Station by a Canadian national, who informed detectives that a city damsel had washed his wallets after a night of merrymaking at Gemini and Quivers clubs,” the DCI statement read in part.

How the Mchele Lady Was Arrested
Her arrest followed a complaint made on November 9 by a Canadian national, who reported that he was robbed after a night out at Gemini and Quiver clubs.
Further, the victim said that he returned to his residence at Spring Gardens Apartments with Consolata after enjoying drinks together.
However, after waking up the next morning, he discovered that he had been drugged and robbed of USD 4,000 (Ksh543,920), Ksh10,000, and two phones, a Samsung S20 and a Corn C105.
After investigations, Cinsolata was traced to Hunters area in Kasarani, where the phones were discovered, among other items.
“Also notable around Consolata’s base was a newly purchased 75” Samsung TV worth Ksh 107,000 as per the receipts, and a Ramtons cooker worth Ksh 55,000. The items, both of which were purchased after the incident, are believed to be proceeds of crime.
“Further investigation uncovered two national identity cards, one Kenyan and one Ugandan, both bearing different names but the same photograph of Consolata Nyangai which raises serious questions about her true identity that is still under investigation” added the statement.

Consolata is being held at Kilimani Police Station and is set to appear in court on Monday, November 18, 2024.

According to the police, Wilson Okello was supposed to give the Toyota Prado to the sister, but he was found unconscious along Mombasa Road in his boxers and vest after being dragged by the carjackers.
According to police, the thieves asked him for a lift to Kisumu which he agreed. As they drove, the driver was offered a bottle of soda which he graciously accepted.
Unfortunately, his next recollection of memory was gaining consciousness on November 11 in a hospital bed.
