Michael Joseph, the longest serving executive at Safaricom since its inception is an accomplished businessman and a corporate leader.
However, nothing much is known about Joseph, outside company boardrooms and stakeholder engagements.Â
Joseph has a rich background in his education and family life, things which he says in most interviews are big contributors to who he is.Â

Michael Joseph Childhood
Joseph was born in 1946 in South Africa. He is a South African with Kenyan citizenship. Joseph relocated to the United States during apartheid rule in South Africa with the hope of a better life.
He moved to Kenya where he established business ventures.
In his past interviews, Michael Joseph revealed that he grew up with dreams of becoming a ranger or a veterinary officer.
Education
Michael was not the brightest of all in his early years of education as he attended various technical colleges before joining university.
He also attended the mandatory military service. He went to Cape town University in South Africa for a bachelor’s in electrical engineering.
Michael Joseph also holds Honorary Doctorate from Africa Nazarene University.

Marriage Life
Notably, the corporate guru has been through a number of marriages. As revealed in past interviews, his first wife died, and it affected him while two other marriages did not work.Â
He, however, noted that he does not regret his past marriage failures saying they are a lesson in life.
Children
Moreover, he is a father and a grandfather. He has two daughters from his past marriages while he has one with his current wife. He is also a grandfather.
