Public Service Cabinet Secretary (CS) Moses Kuria has vowed to remain silent for the next three months regarding his political plans.
In a statement on X, Kuria said he plans to keep off the media and will issue a major announcement on August 20, 2024, regarding his political position.
“I will be issuing a major announcement that will change the political future and landscape of Kenya on 20th August 2024 at 10 am. Until then, I will not issue a political position or opinion on any issue,” Kuria said.
This comes days after Kuria accused certain ‘powerful’ Mt Kenya leaders of blocking him from attending the Limuru III meeting.
On May 14, Kuria announced that he would be attending the conference that was scheduled for Friday, May 17.
Kuria Excluded from Limuru III
However, he later tweeted that the Jubilee Secretary Jeremiah Kioni informed him that he was not part of the invited guests.
According to Kuria, the sponsors of the Limuru III meeting threatened to stop financing the meeting if he is among the attendees.
“I am aware that a very senior and powerful personality with prior experience in provincial administration is financing Limuru 3 and he has given instructions to Kioni that if I attend, he will not finance,” Kuria said on a tweet on May 16.
“Co-convenor Jeremiah Kioni has publicly and privately informed me that I am not welcome for Limuru 3. He has said that I have invited myself.”

Kuria Plans to Organize Fresh Meeting
Kuria emphasized that the Limuru meetings have always been about the community, not individuals and politics.
He announced that he will not be part of the meeting since it was not convened properly in line with the community structures.
The CS further urged the Mt Kenya community to keep off the meeting and wait for the appropriate leaders to organize such meetings.
“Limuru is a sacred and revered community event, and I would not want any sort of confrontation there. Accordingly, I will not be participating in Limuru 3 and I wish to urge all community members to keep off until the meeting is properly convened by competent community structures,” he said.
ADVERT
Besides, Kuria noted that he will organize a proper Limuru meeting in consultation with competent political and community leaders.
“Dear good people of Mt Kenya region. Limuru 3 is officially off. I will consult community professionals, businesspeople, political leaders, cultural leaders and elders and announce a new date for a meaningful meeting,” he said.

One Man One Vote One Shilling
Kuria also criticized DP Rigathi Gachagua for supporting the ‘one man one vote one shilling’ revenue distribution formula.
He explained that the Mt Kenya hold powerful positions in government and can pass the revenue distribution formula easily.
“This is why I will not lie to the people of Mt Kenya region about one man one vote one shilling. Our region has produced the sitting Deputy President, 9 Cabinet members (Including AG, National Treasury and Secretary to the Cabinet), Majority Leader, Chair Budget and Chair Finance in the National Assembly, Deputy Speaker and Deputy Majority Leader in the Senate,” he said.
The CS asked the local leaders to stop misleading the region maintaining that they are capable of implementing the formula.
“What other powers would we be looking for? We are Government and we can implement One Man, One Vote, One Shilling by Friday if we are serious. Let us be honest with our people,” Kuria added.
