Earlier Water Supply Interruptions
The latest water supply was announced on September 1, triggered by a national blackout.
According to a notice issued by the water company’s managing director, following the August 30 national blackout, the facilities of the company were tampered with.
Further, the company explained that a highly specialized transformer at a Gigiri Pumping Station failed to power up.
“When power resumed at 5.30am, our 5mva 66/3.3kva transformer step down at Gigiri Pumping Station failed to energize.
“This being a highly specialized equipment we sought technical assistance from Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) for fault diagnosis,” stated the director.
