The Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) has announced that there will be a massive interruption in water supply that will affect different parts of the city.
In a statement on August 28, Nairobi Water said that the disruption is as a result of a service shutdown that will interrupt supply in parts of the city due to vandalism.
The statement further noted that the disruption is as a result of vandalism of the Sasumua dam water treatment pipeline to Kabete Water Works.
“Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company Ltd. would like to inform its esteemed customers of a service shut down that will interrupt water supply in parts of the city due to vandalism of the Sasumua dam water treatment pipeline to Kabete Water Works at Kanunga area near Nazareth hospital in Kiambu on the night of 27th August 2024,” read part of the statement.
Sasumua dam water pipeline was commissioned in 1956, covering a length of 56km and it brings 61,000m3/day of water to Kabete reservoir.
