ODPP Announces 30 Vacancies for Pupillage Program, How to Apply

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has announced 30 vacancies for its 2025 pupilage Program for aspiring legal professionals.

The ODPP is calling for applicants who are Kenyan citizens and have recently completed their law degrees from recognized universities to submit their interest to the program. 

According to an advertisement published by the ODPP, interested candidates should be highly motivated individuals. Additionally, the notice indicated that the program would run over six months. 

Further, successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend of Ksh15,000.

Requirements for the ODPP Pupilage Vacancies

To ensure the credibility of applicants, the program requires a Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

Other required documents include a copy of the National Identity Card and a law degree from a recognized university. 

Further, interested candidates are required to present a recommendation Letter from the Kenya School of Law confirming completion of the Advocates Training Programme.

Also, they should present an updated Curriculum Vitae and must have graduated from a university by 2022. 

At the same time, candidates must possess several personal attributes including being able to demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills in both English and Kiswahili. 

Also, they should demonstrate a proactive attitude and willingness to learn and to be part of a team handling challenging assignments within timelines, and be
Computer literate.

However, the ODPP noted that a Pupil will not be entitled to any leave, service gratuity, medical cover or any other benefit.

How to Appy

Interested and qualified candidates have been invited to apply using the ODPP Pupillage Application form.

The application form can be accessed from the ODPP Website here.

Additionally, applicants are required to attach copies of the relevant documents.

“Duly completed application forms and application letters should be addressed to: The Secretary Public Prosecutions Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions Ragati Road, Upper Hill P.O. Box 30701-00100 NAIROBI, KENYA.

The application deadline for the vacancies has been set for January 24, 2025.

“Women, Persons with Disability and those from marginalized Communities are encouraged to apply. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted,” the notice read in part.
