Govt Announces 10,000 Jobs in Dubai; How to Apply

The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection has announced vacancies for 10,000 jobs for Kenyans interested in working in Dubai.

In a notice on Thursday, January 2, the ministry’s Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua indicated that successful candidates will work in Dubai’s construction industry. 

The opportunity is open to both skilled and unskilled workers and promises financial benefits, improved living conditions and professional growth for successful applicants.

The available positions include steel fixers, masons, scaffolders, carpenters, waterproofing technicians, and general workers.

Recruitment Process and Salary

Mutua explained that recruitment will take place in Mombasa at the Kenya Coast National Polytechnic on January 3 and January 4, 2025.

The event will run from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on both days. 

To streamline the process, successful candidates will receive on-the-spot offer letters during the recruitment.

After selection, a three-day medical examination and processing period will follow, during which visas will be issued. Once all documentation is complete, travel arrangements will be finalized, and candidates will be on their way to Dubai within days.

Successful candidates will earn tax-free salaries ranging from Ksh33,000 to Ksh60,000. Additionally, they will get free accommodation, transportation, food, and medical care while in Dubai.

Costs and Documents Required for the Jobs

However, applicants are required to cater for their travel tickets, medical expenses, and minor processing fees. 

Mutua noted that the ministry negotiated reduced and affordable costs to ensure accessibility.

“To make this opportunity accessible, I have negotiated reduced and affordable costs. Successful candidates will cater for their tickets, medical, and minor processing fees,” stated the CS. 

Applicants are encouraged to bring all relevant certificates and documentation to the recruitment venue, as well as appropriate clothing for any practical assessments that may be conducted.

“No passport? No problem! Expedited passport issuance will be facilitated for successful candidates,” added the CS.
