Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu and Senator Ledama Ole Kina have dived into a verbal battle over plans by the County government to allocate Sh. 100 million ward development fund to the Members of the County Assembly (MCAs).
Governor Ole Ntutu accused Ole Kina for allegedly spending too much time on the national television and radios condemning the proposed allocation instead of moving to the ground to see the needs of the people.
While speaking at Suswa ward in Narok East Sub County during a Public Participation forum on the development of County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) governor Ntutu said his efforts to invite the senator in the forums were futile as he has never shown up.
“We are now discussing a very crucial topic on CIDP, which will guide our development agenda in the next five years. I have invited our senator to join us to listen to the challenges facing our people, but he is busy speaking too much ‘English’ on television,” said Ntutu.
Furthermore, the Narok governor added that he is moving around the county to listen to the people and see the struggles they undergo every day with a view to creating a permanent solution.

“I was once an MP and I understand what the law says too. That is why I am keen on the development of CIDP so that we can set our priorities first,” he stated.
Ntutu was flanked by Narok East MP Ken Aramat and a host of Members of County Assembly.
Nonetheless, during the public participation forum, Suswa Ward residents through their MCA Salaash Kisotu asked the county government to install water projects in the area, build classrooms and renovate all feeder roads.
Likewise, during Mashujaa day celebrations held in Kilgoris DEB Primary School, Senator Ledama Ole Kina warned Governor Ntutu not to introduce the Ward Development fund saying it was illegal.
Senator Ledama explained that he is answerable on the financial spending at the county level, hence, he wonders how he would answer questions on the ward development fund.
“My job is to solicit funds to the county. However, how will I answer questions on something that is unconstitutional? I ask the governor to stop lying to the MCAs that he can give them any kit because it is illegal,” he noted.
