The Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) on Friday, November 10 announced internship opportunities for law graduates through the Parliamentary Pupillage Programme, 2024.
In the advertisement in the dailies, the commission said it is looking for suitable candidates for its Pupillage Program.
“The Parliament of Kenya is an institution in which students at the Kenya School of Law may undertake their Pupillage Programme,” read part of the advert.
The listing is set out in the Council of Legal Education (Admission) Regulations, 2007.
According to PSC, successful applicants are set to begin the program in January 2024 lasting for six months.
Qualifications for the internship program
Also, those applying for the internship program must have impeccable verbal and written communication skills in both English and Kiswahili.
“Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills in both English and Kiswahili, as evidenced by a score of at least a “B” plain grade in both subjects,” stated PSC.
The Commission further noted that for a pupil to be selected, they must possess at least a Bachelor of Laws (LL. B) degree (Upper Second-Class Honors) from a recognized University.
“Applicants must be currently admitted to the Kenya School of Law and be sitting for the Kenya School of Law exams in November 2023,” reads part of the advert.

Likewise, the applicant should demonstrate a proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
Additionally, they must be computer literate and willing to be part of a team handling challenging tasks within specific timelines.
How to Apply
The application process for the intersnhip program involves mandatory completion of the Parliamentary Service Commission Job Application Form (Form 1J) by the graduates.
PSC further noted that the application form can be downloaded from the parliament website.
In addition, it may be obtained from the Commission’s reception desk at Parliament Buildings, Nairobi.
Further, the Commission clarified that the application should be accompanied by a copy of the letter of admission to the KSL.
Other notable requirements include certified copies of academic certificates and testimonials from the graduates.
On the other hand, the Application form and copies of certificates and testimonials should be emailed as a single PDF file attachment to [email protected].
What’s more, the Parliamentary Commision stated that it will not accept hard copy applications from the applicants.

The deadline for internship applications is on or before November 30, 2023.
“Applications from applicants who do not complete the Parliamentary Service Commission Job Application Form will not be considered,” warned the Commission.
Notably, the Parliament of Kenya is one of the institutions set out in the Council of Legal Education (Admission) Regulations, 2007 as an institution in which students of the Kenya School of Law may undertake their Pupilage Programme.
