Royal Media Services (RMS) radio presenter Tina Ogal has officially joined the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
According to a statement dated April 28, ODM stated that Tina Ogal was among several new aspirants who officially joined the party on Tuesday, April 28, at an event presided over by ODM Secretary General Catherine Omanyo.
During the event, the Radio Citizen presenter declared her intention to contest the Embakasi East parliamentary seat, currently held by Babu Owino.
“Veteran radio presenter Tina Ogal joined the party and expressed interest in the Embakasi East Parliamentary seat,” read part of the statement.
She has over 20 years of experience in the industry, having served as a media personality since 2004, when she first joined the RMS station.

Tina Ogal is widely recognized for her distinctive, authoritative voice and articulate command of the Swahili language, and for engaging the audiences with conversations that resonate with them.

She hosts the “Drive on Reload Show,” an evening drive show alongside Munai Generali from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Their show revolves around entertainment and trending topics in the country.
The talented radio personality has also appeared several times as a guest host at the Roga Roga Show on Citizen TV, another brand of Royal Media Services.
Ogal’s efforts with her colleagues at Radio Citizen have earned the radio station several awards over the years in different categories, including a recent award in 2023, when the station won silver in the People’s Choice Award at the KUZA awards.
In addition to working for Royal Media Services, Ogal previously served as a Radio Presenter at Waumini FM from January 2001 to February 2004.
While working for Waumini FM, Ogal also worked partly as a voice-over artist for the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) from January 2002 to September 2002.
She joins the list of media personalities who will ditch the newsroom for politics in 2027.
Citizen TV presenter Trevor Ombija declared interest in the Nyakach Parliamentary seat, while media personality Willis Raburu disclosed that he would run for Kisumu Senator.

Other Aspirants who Joined ODM
According to ODM, other aspirants who joined the party include Bayamin Mahat, who is eyeing the Waberi Ward seat in Garissa County, and Bobby Onunga, who has expressed interest in the Embakasi Ward seat in Nairobi County.
“Others were Bayamin Mahat (Waberi Ward, Garissa County) and Bobby Onunga (Embakasi Ward, Nairobi County).”
The party noted that the move is part of its commitment to opening up democratic space and encouraging more individuals from diverse backgrounds to join and participate in its political processes.
