The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) have agreed to establish a Broad-Based Management Committee to coordinate and align the government’s legislative and executive agenda.
In a statement on April 23, both parties confirmed that the committee, comprising party leaders, selected Cabinet ministers, and the Majority and Minority Leaders in Parliament, is expected to enhance coherence, efficiency, and the delivery of effective services.
“In addition, the two-party leaders agreed to establish a Broad-Based Management Committee comprising the party leaders, selected Cabinet Ministers, and the Majority and Minority Leaders in Parliament,” read part of the statement.
The resolution was reached during a joint consultative meeting held on April 23, 2026, bringing together the UDA Steering Committee and the ODM Central Management Committee.

The UDA-ODM talks also focused on strengthening collaboration and identifying areas of mutual interest between the two parties.
As part of the resolutions, the respective party chairpersons are to continue structured, regular consultations across party organs.
The ongoing engagements will aim to build consensus on priority issues and lay the groundwork for a formal coalition of equals between UDA and ODM.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to constructive dialogue, unity of purpose, and a shared vision for national development and inclusive governance.

Broad-based 10 Point Agenda
This comes after President William Ruto and ODM Party Leader Oburu Oginga agreed to form a broad-based parliamentary mediation committee to fast-track the implementation of pending legislative proposals under the NADCO framework as part of the 10-point agenda.
On March 10, Ruto said that the broad-based government arrangement between the two parties continues to deliver on its mandate.
“We have agreed to form a parliamentary, broad-based mediation committee to accelerate the implementation of the outstanding items presented for legislation by NADCO,” Ruto said.
