The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) issued clarification on the aspirants who are allowed to attend the party’s aspirant forum at the State House, Nairobi.
In a statement on February 3, the ruling party said that the meeting was strictly for those who had already registered as aspirants.
“Please be advised that attendance at tomorrow’s UDA Party Aspirants Forum at State House, Nairobi is strictly limited to aspirants who successfully registered and received official confirmation from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party,” said UDA.
At the same time, attendees were asked to bring their identification.
“Only aspirants who have received a direct invitation message from the Party will be allowed entry to the forum. All eligible aspirants are required to carry their National Identity Card or Passport for verification upon arrival,” read part of the notice.
On January 21, UDA issued a notice informing all party members and aspiring candidates to register through the official portal and verify their registration online for the Aspirant Forum meeting.
On 29th January 2026, the party issued a follow-up notice on the deadline for registration of the UDA aspirants’ forum to serve as a reminder to all potential aspirants of the registration and verification deadline.
All the interested party members and interested parties with intentions to contest in the 2027 General elections under the UDA party ticket were advised to complete the registration within the given time frame.
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki also clarified that it was not mandatory for incumbent leaders to register as aspirants.
“It is not mandatory for incumbent UDA Governors, Senators, MPs or MCAs to register as aspirants at the moment It is not mandatory for incumbent UDA Governors, Senators, MPs or MCAs to register as aspirants at the moment,” Kindiki said.

UDA Grassroots Elections
UDA Aspirants’ Forum comes barely a month before the upcoming phase 3 and phase 2 repeat grassroots elections. Phase 3 will take place on March 7th, 2026, while phase 2 will take place on March 28, 2026.
Grassroots repeat elections are to be held following the resolution by the National Executive Committee of the UDA and the Election and Nomination Dispute Resolution Committee (ENDRC) regarding the concluded grassroots election.
Registration for the repeat grassroots election, phases 2 and 3, was opened on Wednesday, 21st January 2026, and will close on Sunday, 21st February 2026.
In preparation for the grassroots election, the select polling centres and secretariat staff were trained by their colleagues from the National Election Board (NEB).
The training focused on the use of electronic gadgets during the electoral process at the polling centres.

Phase 3 countries
UDA`S Phase 3 repeat polls will be held in several counties on March 7th, including Bomet, Kakamega, Kirinyaga, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Kiambu, Uasin Gishu, Laikipia, Nyandarua, Kericho, Vihiga, Nyeri, Baringo, Nakuru, Murang’a, Transnzoia, Embu, Samburu and Meru counties.
On the 28th March,2026, the phase 2 grassroots election will take place in countries such as Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Tana River, Lamu, Taita-Taveta, Garissa, Wajir, Mandera, Marsabit, Isiolo, Kitui, Machakos, Makueni, Turkana, Kajiado, Bungoma, Siaya, Kisumu, Migori, Kisii and Nyamira.
