Kenyan TikToker Faustine Lipuku Lukale, popularly known as Baba Talisha, has addressed claims that he is facing an auction over a KSh6 million debt, after social media users alleged he borrowed money to fund a luxury lifestyle and is struggling to repay his debts.
In a statement on September 10, Baba Talisha said he had seen posts and comments on Facebook, TikTok and Twitter celebrating what some users described as his downfall.
He said the claims included allegations that he had borrowed KSh6 million to fund a luxury lifestyle, that women working in the Gulf had been sending him money and that his vacations were financed through loans.
Baba Talisha said the KSh6 million figure was linked to a court case he has been fighting since 2024 and not a personal loan he took to fund his lifestyle.
He explained that he had been under a gag order during the case, limiting what he could publicly say about the matter.
According to Baba Talisha, the court eventually delivered judgment, and the plaintiff was awarded approximately KSh6 million.
He said he had to raise money to pursue an appeal and seek stay orders after the judgment.
Baba Talisha said he already had KSh250,000 and privately approached a few friends for help in raising the remaining amount.
He said his friends contributed more than KSh250,000 within 12 hours.
“Private friends. Not TikTok. Not Facebook. Not some imaginary online fundraiser,” he said.

Baba Talisha Responds to Claims About His Lifestyle
Baba Talisha also rejected claims that his travels and lifestyle were funded through borrowed money.
He said his work involves collaborating with brands, creating content, influencing and marketing businesses.
He mentioned partnerships with Adequate Safaris and Phoneplace Kenya, saying some travel experiences can be part of influencer marketing arrangements.
“When you see me travelling through my partnership with Adequate Safaris, understand how influencer marketing works,” he said.
Baba Talisha added that brands and creators can enter partnerships and deals, arguing that not everything a person is seen enjoying was necessarily bought using borrowed money.
“I work within my capacity, and that work helps me take care of my special baby Talisha, my family and the people who depend on me,” he said.
Calls for Evidence Over Money Allegations
Baba Talisha also challenged anyone claiming that he had financially exploited women to provide evidence.
He said anyone with evidence that he used a woman, promised to marry her or manipulated her into giving him money should come forward.
“Not rumours. Not ‘I heard.’ Not TikTok chai. Evidence,” he said.
He said the past two and a half years had been mentally and emotionally difficult but that he had chosen not to publicly share everything he was going through.
Baba Talisha said he had stepped back from unnecessary drama to focus on his life, family and building his brand.
He urged social media users to establish the facts before celebrating what they believe is another person’s downfall.
He added that people should consider that someone facing criticism online may be dealing with private challenges they have chosen not to publicise.

Social Media Claims About Baba Talisha’s Finances
The controversy emerged after social media users circulated claims that Baba Talisha was seeking KSh6 million through an online fundraiser.
He previously clarified that he had not asked TikTok users to raise money for him, saying he had instead approached a few close friends privately for financial help related to a court judgment.
The issue later generated speculation about his finances, with some social media users claiming that he had borrowed KSh6 million to support a luxury lifestyle and fund his travels.
