On-demand mobility platform Bolt ranked eighth among Kenya’s strongest brands in 2026, earning recognition in the latest Superbrands survey that assessed how consumers rate companies in the country.
In a statement on Wednesday, November 4, Bolt said the ranking followed an independent consumer research exercise conducted by global market research firm Kantar. The study assessed brands across 112 categories in Kenya.
The company scored 88.786 points in the 2026 Superbrands ranking, which assessed brands based on quality, reliability and distinction.
Bolt scored 9.08 for quality, 9.14 for distinction, and 8.79 for reliability. Its brand awareness score stood at 78%.
The recognition places the company among the leading brands in the travel, transport and ride-hailing category, reflecting its position in Kenya’s competitive mobility market.
How Bolt Performed in the 2026 Superbrands Ranking
The Superbrands study evaluated familiar brands using three main attributes: quality, reliability and distinction.

Under quality, the study assessed whether a brand delivered products and services that met consumer expectations, while reliability measured consistency in performance. Distinction examined how well a brand stood out from its competitors.
According to Keith Pere and Wetindi Patrick, Project Leads at Kantar Insights East Africa, brands that perform strongly meet consumers’ functional and emotional needs while offering something meaningfully different from competing businesses.
Commenting on the recognition, Dimmy Kanyankole, Bolt’s Senior General Manager for Rides in East Africa, said the ranking reflected the confidence customers had placed in the platform.
“Being named among Kenya’s Top 10 strongest brands is a significant milestone for Bolt and a reflection of the trust customers have placed in our platform,” Kanyankole said.
He added that the company would continue improving its services while supporting the drivers and courier partners who make its operations possible.
What the Superbrands Ranking Reveals About Kenyan Consumers
The research also examined the influence of brand reputation on purchasing decisions, with findings showing that consumers place considerable importance on recognition and trust.
According to the survey, 86 per cent of Kenyan consumers were likely to purchase products or services carrying the Superbrands seal.

Another 84 per cent said the recognition would increase their trust in a brand, while 85 per cent indicated it would encourage them to consider buying a product or trying a new service.
The findings further showed that 81 per cent of respondents believed the Superbrands seal helped brands distinguish themselves from competitors. An equal proportion said it helped them identify leading brands in their respective categories.
Despite the influence of brand recognition, price remained a consideration, with 63 per cent of respondents saying they would consider paying more for a product or service carrying the seal.
Consumer willingness to recommend brands bearing the recognition also increased, with the Net Promoter Score rising from 10 in 2024 to 31 in 2026.
Superbrands East Africa Project Director and Associate Publisher Jawad Jaffer said the findings demonstrated that consumers expected businesses to deliver on their promises.
“Kenyan consumers have many brands to choose from, but what ultimately matters is whether a brand delivers on its promises,” Jaffer said.
He noted that quality, reliability and distinction remained central to purchasing decisions, adding that businesses needed to earn consumer confidence through consistent brand building rather than relying only on advertising.
Jaffer further explained that Superbrands recognition was based on consumer experiences and perceptions, indicating the reputation businesses had established among their customers.
