President William Ruto has promised to gift Harrison Kenga, a Mombasa based businessman a new Tuk Tuk to boost his business.
Speaking during the Hustler fund first anniversary celebrations on November 30, Ruto lauded the businessman for his consistency in borrowing and repaying his loans.
The head of state highlighted the story of Kenga who he noted had already borrowed over Ksh700,000 from the hustler fund initiative.
“I am very excited to meet you for the very first time Kenga. He has not come here to waste his time; this is a businessman. Today he is leaving this place with his own tuktuk.
“He has now borrowed more than Ksh700,000. When we increased his limit from Ksh800 to ksh1,600, he continued to borrow and repay his loans,” stated Ruto.

Further, the president revealed that Kenga had already saved up to ksh35,730 in the compulsory deductions that go into savings when individuals borrow from the fund.
Additionally, he promised to increase the businessman’s savings by Ksh3,000 noting that he would do the same to all other borrowers.
“And he revealed to me that the Tuktuk does not belong to him. He was hired to operate it. Because he has surpassed the Ksh6,000 mark in his savings, we will give him an additional Ksh3,000 to go towards his savings.
