President William Ruto‘s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has announced partnership with Communist Party of China (CPC) to build a Leadership School in Kenya.
UDA secretary General (SG) Cleophas Malala said the Leadership College will be an education Centre for youth from different countries in Africa.
“We have agreed on issues of us conceptualizing an idea as UDA party to form UDA Leadership School to mentor young leadership talent.
This will ensure that we give them the capacity and a broad mindset that will be able to govern our country in years to come,” said Malala.
Further, the SG revealed that plans are underway to have the Leadership School hosted at the party’s headquarters.
“We have already purchased land to start building the UDA party headquarters where the Leadership School will be located,” he said.
Additionally, Malala said the party is planning in terms of human resource and curriculum content that will be used at the Leadership Centre.
“They (CPC) have committed to partner with us, and we are starting by visiting them in January 2024 to go and workshop the content,” stated Malala.
UDA Lessons from CPC
Further, Malala explained that it is important for the ruling party to stretch and partner with other parties that can help in capacity building in light of technological advancement.
“That has been at the centre of our discussion today with the CPC and they have agreed to help build skills, enhance and develop expertise in our secretariat not only in technological areas but also managerial areas,” he said.
He said the goal is to develop a party that will outlive the current leadership just like the CPC which celebrates hundred years of existence.

“Today CPC has given us a document on how they have walked the journey for more than hundred years. To have a strong party that has entrenched itself in the hearts of its members, a party that is hoisted by the pillars of truthfulness, sincerity, love and peace,” explained Malala.
The SG further stated that he will continue engaging with other parties from across the world to build UDA into the biggest party in Africa.
Malala made these remarks after hosting CPC delegation led by Ministerial board of the organization Department of the CPC Central committe (ODCPC) MAO Dingzi and China’s Ambassador to Kenya Zhou Pingjian on Friday, December 1.

Gachagua Meeting with Communist Party Delegation
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua also hosted the CPC delegation as his Karen home in Nairobi.
According to reports, the leaders discussed areas of cooperation between the CPC and UDA Party.
This included the establishment of the UDA Party leadership school and the new UDA Party headquarters.
Other issues were political party exchange program and capacity building in the ICT sector in preparation for the upcoming UDA party grassroots elections planned for in April 2024.
