Thousands of Safaricom customers have reported that Safaricom PLC has increased their Fuliza borrowing limits.

Customers received text messages from the telco notifying them of their revised loan limits and informing them that they can continue transacting on M-PESA even with insufficient funds by accepting a Fuliza prompt at the end of the transaction.
“Dear X, your Fuliza M-PESA limit is KSH 800.00. Transact normally on M-PESA even with insufficient funds and accept the Fuliza request at the end of the transaction,” read part the text message.

Many Kenyans have taken to social media to share their varied testimonials after receiving increased Fuliza limits.

It has attracted reactions from other users, with some confirming they had also received an increase in their Fuliza limits, echoing the shared experience.

Sir Charles, an X user commented: “I am not alone who has got an increase in Fuliza limit.”

User by the name Psycho added: “My Fuliza limit has been increased from KSh 300 to KSh 800.”

Some customers reported varying increases in their Fuliza limits, with one seeing theirs rise from KSh 100 to KSh 600, others up to KSh 10,000, and some from KSh 500 to KSh 800.

However, several users said they had not received any notification about their loan limit adjustments.

How to Increase Fuliza Limit

Fuliza limit is allocated upon activation by a customer who has been active on the network for at least 6 months based on their line’s activity.

To grow Fuliza limit, you need to continue using Safaricom and M-PESA services and repay your Fuliza M-PESA facility on time by toping up your M-PESA account.

Customers who have been with Safaricom for less than six months will have a zero Fuliza limit.

Every time a customer’s Fuliza limit rises, Safaricom usually sends a notification that reads: “Dear X Customer, your Fuliza M-PESA limit is Ksh1000.00. Keep using M-PESA to grow your limit.”

Eligibility

M-PESA customers registered using their national ID/Kenyan passport/Military ID can activate Fuliza but not all are eligible for a loan limit upon activation.

M-PESA accounts registered using foreign passport cannot successfully opt-in to Fuliza.

Upon opting in, one will be assigned a limit that defines the maximum amount of overdraft they can access.

Safaricom customers who qualify for Fuliza get reminders on how to join: “You qualify for FULIZA! Dial *334# to check your limit & use FULIZA to complete your M-PESA transactions when you have insufficient M-PESA balance.”
