The Seventh-day Adventist Church Kenya Coast Field (KCF) has lifted its ban on Pastor Elizabeth Mokoro, a popular preacher.
The initial ban, dated July 4, 2024, was communicated through an official letter from the KCF Executive Secretary, Pr. Eliab Ombuoro.
According to the letter addressed to all KCF churches and members, five individuals, including Elizabeth Mokoro, were unauthorized to conduct any church services within and outside the KCF territory.
“We wish to inform you all that the below-named personnel are not authorized to conduct any kind of church service within and outside our territory: Pr. Kenneth Maina, Evangelist Shaban Ndege, Evangelist Millicent Odhiambo, Pr. Elizabeth Mokoro, and Evangelist Lantena,” read the initial letter.
However, KCF Executive Secretary Pr. Eliab Ombuoro confirmed that the ban had been lifted as of 10 July 2024.

Additionally, in the follow-up letter, Pr. Ombuoro stated that the July 4 letter was now withdrawn.
“In reference to our letter dated 4th July 2024 on the above subject matter quoted (ACTION 24EXCOM-055), we wish to state that the letter is hereby withdrawn until advised otherwise,” Pr. Ombuoro wrote.

For those who might have read the letter, we request that you disregard it,” read the latest communication.

This comes after the letter gained significant public attention, raising numerous questions about why the ban was being imposed on the listed preachers.
The controversy sparked a heated debate among community members, religious leaders, and the general public, all seeking clarity on the motivations behind the decision.

Another user on X expressed disagreement, tweeting, “This is a misguided idea, especially for Elizabeth. She has been preaching what we need to hear, not what others want to hear,” said @KKKhad2.
Despite the widespread demand for transparency, Pr. Ombuoro did not provide specific reasons for the initial ban or the subsequent decision to lift it.
