The Kenya Meteorological Department (Kenya Met) has warned of incoming rainfall and storms in the following six days.
In its published five-day weather forecast beginning Wednesday, November 6, Kenya Met has asked Kenyans to brace for colder nights and days.
Moreover, the report comes in the wake of cold weather conditions, and low temperatures in the country’s capital Nairobi, and its environs.
According to the weatherman, rainfall is expected in the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, the South-eastern lowlands, the Coast and North-eastern Kenya during the first half of the forecast period.
Thereafter, Isolated storms may occur over some parts of these regions.
However, the second half of the forecast period is likely to be generally sunny and dry.

Showers and Storms in Nairobi and its Environs
Nairobi and other areas within the Highlands East of the Rift Valley will for the following five days receive rains Rains over a few places in the mornings except for Saturday, November 9, when these regions will begin having sunny intervals.
In the afternoons, these regions will receive showers over several places until Friday, November 8, while the nights will be cold with showers, except for Friday, Saturday and Sunday which will have partly cloudy nights.
Other counties in this category are Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka and North-eastern regions including Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo Counties.
Additionally, the same weather conditions should be expected in the southeastern lowlands which include Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado and Taita Taveta Counties, as well as inland parts of Tana River County.

Coast and Other Regions
On the other hand, the Coast region, including Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale Counties as well as coastal parts of Tana River County, will receive showers over a few places throughout the week.
The same conditions are expected during the afternoons and night, except for Sunday, November 10 night, which will be partly cloudy.
Moreover, regions within the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley will experience sunny mornings with a chance of rain over a few places on Sunday and Thursday.
In the afternoons, the regions will receive showers and thunderstorms over several places except on Sunday, which will have sunny intervals.
There will be showers over a few places at night except on Saturday and Sunday, which will be partly cloudy.
Counties within these regions include Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia and West Pokot.
The north-western region including Turkana and Samburu Counties will experience sunny intervals in the morning and afternoons, and partly cloudy nights.
