Moja Expressway Company has announced a temporary road closure affecting part of the Nairobi Expressway. In a statement dated Saturday, May 10, 2025, the company announced that Museum Hill Exit A will be closed from 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025, until 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 11, 2025.
“Please note that Museum Hill Exit A will be temporarily closed from 11:00p.m on Saturday, May 10th, 2025, to 5.00a.m on Sunday, May 11th, 2025,” read part of the statement.
According to the Moja Expressway, the closure is planned to allow for construction and maintenance work.
Motorists are advised to plan their trips accordingly or consider alternative routes, such as the Haile Selassie Exit.
Museum Hill Exit to be Closed
Additionally, Moja Expressway Company apologized for the inconvenience and expressed gratitude to road users for their continued support of the Nairobi Expressway.

Earlier, in a statement dated April 10, 2025, Moja Expressway Company announced that there would be traffic disruptions along a section of the Expressway route leading to Mlolongo.
The Company announced that the Mlolongo Toll Station and Syokimau Entrance A (across from Dinlas Pharma) will be closed on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 10:00 p.m. until Sunday, April 13, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. The closure was to facilitate ongoing construction of the pedestrian overpass in the Katani area.

Motorists headed to CBD using the Mlolongo and Syokimau Entrance A were advised to use the SGR entrance, while Mlolongo-bound motorists to use the JKIA exit.
“Please plan your trips accordingly, as the closure will significantly impact traffic. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and thank you for choosing the Nairobi Expressway,” read the notice.

Moja Expressway Company Limited is a Kenyan-registered entity responsible for operating and maintaining the Nairobi Expressway, a 27.1-kilometer toll road connecting Mlolongo to James Gichuru Road in Nairobi.
As a subsidiary of the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), the company manages the expressway under a public-private partnership (PPP) with the Kenyan government, with CRBC financing the construction and collecting tolls for 27 years to recover its investment before transferring the road to the government.
