Recent Incidents at Central Police Station
Albert Ojwang, a digital activist, died while in police custody at the Central Police Station. He was arrested in Nyanza for alleged “cyber harassment” after posting critical content about DIG Lagat, then transferred to Nairobi for detention.

Inspector General of the National Police Service (NPS) Douglas Kanja ordered the interdiction of several officers, including the Officer Commanding Station (OCS), the duty officer, and all officers on duty on Saturday night, June 7, 2025, pending investigation.
The death of Albert Ojwang remains under investigation, and claims of corruption or mistreatment are often anecdotal, lacking conclusive evidence.
